The Study tries to answer the following main question: How can a high school physics curriculum be developed in light of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to develop critical thinking and deep understanding among high school students?It is divided into the following sub-questions: 1)What are the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to be included in the secondary school physics curriculum? 2)How can the researcher include the next-generation science (NGSS) standards in the physics curriculum currently that are applied in the secondary stage? 3)What is the proposed conception for the development of the secondary-level physics curriculum in the light of the new Generation of Science Education Standards (NGSS)? 4)What is the effectiveness of the proposed conception of the developed physics curriculum in light of the new Generation of Science Education Standards (NGSS) in developing the critical thinking skills of high school students? 5)What is the effectiveness of the proposed conception of the developed physics curriculum in light of the new Generation of Science Education Standards (NGSS) in developing the deep understanding of high school students? The current research reaches the following results: 1)The Next Generation of Science Education Standards (NGSS) is un available at a low level in the content of the physics curriculum at the secondary level in grades one, two and three. 2)There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students in the pre and post applications to test the critical thinking, in favor of the post application. 3)There is a statistically significant difference between (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-application of the critical thinking test, in favor of the experimental group. 4)There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students in the pre and post applications to test the deep understanding, in favor of the post application. There is a statistically significant difference between (0. 05) between the intermediate scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-application of the deep understanding test in favor of the experimental group.
