The current research aims to discover the relationship between Internet addiction , online social support and family support among Beni-suef University students, and identify the relative role of both online social support and family support in predicting Internet addiction, and identify the differences between internet addicts and non - addicts in both online social support and family support for BeniSuef University students. The current research has adopted the descriptive approach and used in the descriptive approach both comparative descriptive design and relational descriptive design.The search sample included the 500 college students, (132 addictsand 127 non-addicts). The researchtools includes:scale of The young Internet addiction (the translation byHeba Abu El Nil, 2014) and the online social support measure (Prepared byYasmine Mustafa, 2016) and the Family support measure (Prepared by the researcher).Using the following statistical methods: Pearson correlation coefficient and T test.
The results of the research indicated that: there is a positive relationship between internet addiction and online social support among university students, and there is an inverse relationship between internet addiction and family support among university students, The variables (online social support and family support) also contributed in predicting Internet addiction, more variables contributed than the prediction of Internet addiction were the family support variable followed by the impact of the online social support variable.and the results show that there are significant differences between internet addicts and non-addicts in the online social support for Internet addicts, as well as there are differences between Internet addicts and non-addicts in family support For non-addicts.
