Abstract The mission is to construct a series of compounds containing the nucleus of thiazole containing nitrogen and sulfur by various chemical methods. Some of these samples were selected to be tested as a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). A thesis included three main tracks to prepare a new number of thiazole derivatives: The first track: Synthesis of some new functionalized dyes derived from 2-amino-5-arylazothiazoles 1- The second track: involves the preparation of some new compounds from the 2-cyanoacetamido-thiazole compound. 2- The third track: Computation of structural and electronic properties. The samples were selected to be tested as a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSCC). Some of these samples are tested using x-ray diffraction (XRD) to ensure them crystalline form and purity without phase separation and only samples with good adhesion to the TiO2 layer were tested. Based on the optical energy gap, HUMO-LOMO differences and ability to form solar cell. |
