Abstract
The present study was carried out at three regions (locations) of Alexandria Governorate i.e. Hawaria, Nubaria and Abees during the period from fall 2012 until summer 2013.
The aim of this study was to estimate the extent of pollution of atmosphere and soil of the three regions with nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and sulfur dioxide (SO2), lead, copper, chromium and cadmium. Beside the role of Ficus retusa and Conocarpus erectus trees in reducing the pollution degree and the possibility of use their leaf analysis to predict the soil pollution with the lead, copper, chromium and cadmium.
