Abstract
In an attempt to elucidate hemodynamic changes of uterine and subendometrial blood vessels in DMPA users, 56 women using DMPA were recruited for the current work. They were divided into three groups: the first includes 21 women complaining of bleeding, the second includes 21 women complaining of amenorrhea and the third group include 14 women did not complain of bleeding or amenorrhea .
Doppler study of uterine and spiral artery showed statistically significant difference between amenorrhea and bleeding group, with decrease in Doppler indices in bleeding group in comparison to amenorrhea group which correlate with hemodynamic changes and neovasculariztion of subendometrial region in bleeding group.
