Abstract

The structured education has positive impacts on the diabetic control process and outcomes.
The structured education decreases number of hypoglycemic and hyperglycemic symptoms in the intervention group as shown in table No.16 and table No.20 respectively.
The structured education improves blood glucose level during Ramadan in the intervention groups as shown in table No.25.
The structured education increases acceptance and frequency of measuring blood glucose level during Ramadan in the intervention group as shown in table No.23 and table No.24 respectively.
About 38% of individual included in this study didn’t know if they have dyslipidemia or not because they didn’t test it before as shown in table No.10.
Smoking prevalence in included subjects is about 8% (72 out of 901) all of them are male.
Structured education has a statistic significant different in the intervention group in water intake and sugar consumption but doesn’t have a statistic significant different in physical activities, food consumption and sleep duration.

Chapter 8: Recommendations
Physicians should know the recent diabetic guidelines and recommendations regarding Ramadan fasting for diabetic patients.
Diabetic educator role should be activated in Beni Suef governorate.
Nutritional therapist should arrange more education sessions for diabetic patients pre-Ramadan.
Diabetes structured education should be encouraged over diabetes standard education.
Structured education for diabetic patients should be part of diabetic management plan.
TV and media should focus on healthy nutritional habits and fluid intake before Ramadan.
Patients should know that he has excuse to break fasting if he has hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.
Diabetic patients should get medical advice regarding Ramadan fasting two months at least before Ramadan start date.
Lipid profile should be checked for diabetic patients to prevent and managed dyslipidemia.
