Abstract

Aim: This study aims at examining the availability of talent management components at the Egyptian Commercial banks from its employee’s perspectives.
Method: This study is quantitative and data is collected by conducting a survey. Primary data is collected through questionnaires to the top level and middle level employees. A questionnaire was distributed to measure the variables Talent Management, Employee Engagement and the service quality from the employees’ perspectives.
Results & Conclusions: The results show that there is a significant relationship between talent management (recruitment, performance management, compensation, employee empowerment and succession planning) and service quality. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between talent management and employee engagement at the Egyptian Commercial banks. Moreover, there is a mediating effect of employee engagement on the relationship of talent management and service quality. Applying the components of talent management in both public and private sector banks was in favor of private banks.
Recommendations: Assign future talent requirement to be aligned with the organizations strategy, the researcher do recommend the banks to take into consideration clarifying roles and build accountability by formulating a competency model describes the roles and responsibilities, recruiting the high potential employees from inside/outside the organization, Establish competency inventories to find the talent quicker on different level and perform effective succession planning programs.
Suggestions for future research: Research always continues and could be followed up with more perception dimensions either from customers’ perspectives to the bank service quality. Future research can be conducted to comparative study between Egyptian banks and foreign banks in applying Talent management system.
