Abstract

WLI considered as the gold standard technique in detection and treatment of NMIBC, WLI assisted TUR of NMIBC had been studied in multiple researches. Multiple modalities developed to enhance the detection efficacy of NMIBC, these modalities such as NBI and PDD. Our study discussed SPIES mode (spectra B) and its sensitivity and specificity in comparison to WLI which is the gold standard. Our work is prospective randomized single center study, which carried out in between May 2017 to august 2018 in Urology and Nephrology center – Egypt. In this study, we prospectively randomized patients into two group the first arm is WLI group, the other is SPIES arm. Re-TUR was carried out for all patients using WLI initially and then switch the mode into SPIES mode, so additional cases were documented Re-TUR using SPIES mode is highly recommended as it detected 100 % of residual lesion . 3months follow up was carried out for both groups using SPIES mode inpatient . . Long term follow up after 1 year was carried out for both arms in the outpatient . Tumor number and grade were the only significant predictors of tumor recurrence in 3 .12 months follow-up.
