Abstract

This study was under taken as a trial to develop a simple, effective, and
environmentally sound process to improve P availability of RP to crops by
using phosphate-solubilizing fungi (PSF), and the following results were
obtained:
1- The highest soluble phosphate percentage was obtained when 30% w/v
of the phosphate rock was mixed with the whole culture of A. niger and
incubated at 30°C for 15 days . Followed by rock phosphate inoculated
with the whole culture of A.fumigatus , then came the rock phosphate
inoculated with A.fumigatus culture filtrate and rock phosphate inoculated
with A.nige filtrate .
2- Throughout the practical work two different types of soil were used
(clay & reclaimed soil) each of them was subjected to 5 phosphate
treatments each treatment had 3 doses (RD : recommended dose , 1/2RD:
half of the recommended dose & 2RD : double of the recommended dose),
in presence and in absence of P.vulgaris plant. Results of soil analysis
revealed that total phosphate content ,plant available phosphate as well as
water soluble phosphate of clay soil is considerably enhanced by the
addition of rock phosphate inoculated with A.niger while , the total
phosphate content of reclaimed soil was positively affected by A. fumigatus
culture inoculated RP.
3- The best inoculated rock phosphate (IRP) treatment dose which had the 3- The best inoculated rock phosphate (IRP) treatment dose which had the
maximum enhancing effect on soil phosphate content was found to be ½
RD for A.niger inoculated rock phosphate and RD for A.fumigatus
inoculated rock phosphate.4 – Total organic carbon(TOC) content of clay soil showed the maximum
value when IRP with A.niger in ½ RD in presence of Phasoelus vulgaris
plant followed by RD of IRP with A. fumigatus . On the other hand
reclaimed soil showed the highest TOC content when IRP with A.niger was
added in 2RD in absence of the plant followed by ½ RD of IRP with
A.fumigatus. RP showed the highest TOC content among controll
treatments.
5- Clay soil showed the highest total nitrogen (TN) content when amended
with IRP with A. niger in 2RD in the presence of the plant , followed by
IRP with A. fumigatus RD in the presence of the pant , while highest TN
content of reclaimed soil was reached in case of IRP with A. niger in 2RD
in presence of the plant followed by½ RD IRP with A.fumigatus in
presence of the plant.
6- Total dissolved salts (TDS) of clay soil considerably enhanced by the
use of IRP with A.fumigatus in 2RD in the presence of the plant followed
by the RD , reclaimed soil showed the best TDS when IRP with A. niger
&A. fumigatus were added in ½ RD in the presence of the plant.
7- The use of IRP positively affected the microbial count of both clay as
well as reclaimed soil.
8- The use of IRP with A.niger in ½ RD positively affected the growth
parameters of Phasoelus vulgaris plant followed by rock phosphate (RP) in
RD and then came super phosphate (SP) in RD.
