Abstract

Research Objectives:

The purpose of this study is to assess the use of principal of availability of energy in Egyptian industrial sector.
The Exergy analysis has been performed along with energy analysis, in order to gain deeper and more realistic understanding of the sector’s condition. The sources of energy degradation and the mechanisms which cause degradation of quality of energy have been identified. Moreover remedial actions for better utilization of availability of energy are proposed.
Conclusion of Research:
1- A complete survey of previous studies in the field of implementation of Exergy destruction accounting in the industry .
2- Computational calculation for Exergy and Energy analysis and elements which cause the available Exergy destroy .
3- An experimental test reg. will be exemplify in actual green carbon anode plant in Egyptalum Company in Nag Hammadi ( The Aluminum Company of Egypt), and all measurements will be taken from site in actual work procedures .
4- Computational calculations shall be carried out to gain Further insight on the details of Exergy destruction and Exergy flow in green carbon anode plants.
5- Comparison between numerical and actual measurements shall be carried out, furthermore, comparison with literature data shall be performed.
6- The effect of different parameters on the Exergy flow characteristics such as the heat transfer behavior , bulk materials properties and heat transfer medium used in green anode manufacture shall be investigated.
