Abstract Type 2 diabetes in geriatric patients is a rising problem worldwide between developing as well as developed countries causing increase in mortality and morbidity. The goal of glycemic control in geriatric patients is to delay development of complications. Glycemic controls in geriatric patients differ from that of the adults as they have other comorbidities due to aging. Our study was conducted on 140 geriatric patients with type 2 diabetes. A written consent was taken from all of them to be asked about their socio-demographic data, their medical history, to answer our questionnaires and have some laboratory tests. We found that: 1- Quality of life had statistically significant relation with glycemic control only in the univariate analysis but not the multi-variate. 2- Multi-variate analysis revealed significant relation between the quality of life and diabetes knowledge, depression and nutritional status not the glycemic control |
