Abstract
Objectives of the present work were to study the status, levels and spatial distribution of total and DTPA – extractable Cd and Ni in an attempt to evaluate the degree of soil contamination with the two metals throughout Youssef El-Seddik District area, Fyoum Governorate. Levels and distribution of soil salinity in terms of ECe values, pH, CaCO3, organic matter, particle size distribution and soil texture were also determined.
One hundred thirty seven soil samples were collected from sixty-nine sites following the grid system at distances 2 kilometers to represent Youssef El-Seddik District soils.
