Abstract The purpose of the present study was to demonstrate the effect of undifferentiated and differentiated MSCs in the presence and absence of polylactic co-glycolic acid (PLGA) nanofibers on carbon tetra-chloride (CCl4) induced experimental mice chronic liver damage. Forty-five local strain mice, weighing 25-30 gm, were used in this work. chronic liver damage was induced by intraperitoneal (I.P) CCl4 injection twice a week for eight weeks. Five mice (Test control) were sacrificed after four weeks and liver histopathological examination was done for fibrosis confirmation. The remaining mice were classified into four groups: 1- The control group (chronic liver failure-non-treated group) in which, the mice subjected to a single intravenous injection of 0.9% saline in the tail vein after 4 weeks post CCl4 injection. 2- Undifferentiated HBMMSCs treated group in which, the mice were injected with a single dose of 1 x 10 6 2- undifferentiated HBMMSCs /mice in the tail vein, after the 4th week of CCl4 injection. 3- Differentiated HBMMSCs nano- treated group in which, the mice were injected with a single dose of 1 x 10 6 3- differentiated HBMMSCs nano- /mice in the tail vein, after the 4th week of CCl4 injection. 4- Differentiated HBMMSCs nano+ treated group in which, the mice were injected with a single dose of 1 x 10 6 |
