Abstract In this thesis, a control strategy for an isolated microgrid is proposed. This control strategy is dedicated to maintain the output voltage in terms of amplitude and frequency under different operating conditions, and to achieve a better regulation between the available generation and the overall load demand taking in consideration balanced, unbalanced and nonlinear load. Also, an energy management system suitable for the isolated microgrid is proposed. The basic idea is to charge the energy storage system during off-peak period and discharge it during peak periods. The objective of this management system is to minimize the total generation cost. |
