Abstract It is estimated that 5000 tons of dyeing materials are discharged into the environment every year. These poisonous materials absorb the oxygen of the water. This has raised much as it threatens human life and the environment. Industrial wastewaters contain various kinds of toxic substances such as cyanides, alkaline cleaning agents, degreasing solvents, oil, fat, and metals. Water with high amount of color is not suitable for cloth washing, dyeing, paper industry, beverages production, dairies and other food products.Common ways of wastewater treatment include adsorption, sedimentation, chemical analysis, chemi-coagulation, biological methods, and advanced oxidation procedure. The adsorption of different pollutants such as heavy metal ions and dyes from the contaminated water using nanocomposites has attracted significant attraction due to their characteristic properties such as extremely small size, very large surface area, absence of internal diffusion resistance, and high surface-area-to-volume ratio. Polymer nanocomposites offer the potential for enhanced mechanical properties, barrier properties, thermal properties, surface area and flame retardant properties when compared to conventionally filled materials |
