Abstract

Gynecological examination is an important part for early detection of gynecological diseases and in practice it is very commonly used method, which it conducted to assess the genital organs of the women. So regular gynecological checks done many times in every woman’s life span are important attempts used in the estimation of women’s reproductive health. (Sarpkaya, et al 2014).The first gynecological examination takes place between 13-15 years old which not included pelvic examination and focus on anatomical development, body image, self-confidence, immunizations and check if the structures of the reproductive system are normal. (ACOG, 2016).Aim of the study:The present study aimed to assess maternity nurses’ knowledge, practice and attitude regarding gynecological examination.Research question:What is the level of maternity nurses’ knowledge regarding gynecological examination?What is the level of maternity nurses’ practice regarding gynecological examination?What is the level of maternity nurses’ attitude regarding gynecological examination?Research setting:The study was conducted in obstetrics and gynecological department at Benha university hospital.
