Abstract Objectives:Determination of the effect of feeding on carrot tops hay at different levels (0.0%, 10.0%, 20.0%, 30.0% and 40.0%) on growth performance, nutrient digestion factors, carcass characteristics and some blood plasma measurements and economic efficiency of feed White New Zealand rabbits during the period of 6 to 14 weeks of age. Methods & Results:A total of 60 non-homogenous White New Zealand rabbits were divided into five treatments. Each treatment was divided into 3 replicates, thus 5 experimental groups were formed. Five experimental diets were formed with the five levels above described by the Driss carrot. Rabbits were fed to their experimental diets from 6 weeks to 14 weeks. Measurements of growth performance, some carcass characteristics and some blood plasma parameters were taken. The most important results are:1- No mortality of rabbits occurred during the experimental period. 2- There were no significant effect on the final live body weight of rabbits fed up to 30% carrot tops hay; At 40% carrot tops hay resulted in a decrease in the final weight. There was no significant increase in total food consumption.3-Carrot tops hay had no significant effect on the food conversion ratio up to 30% and at 40% had negative effect, protein use efficiency, energy efficiency.>4-The use of graded levels levels of carrot tops hay improves the economic efficiency of nutrition during this study.5-Carcass traits and blood plasma parameters of rabbits were not affected by using graded levels of carrot tops hay in diets.onclusion:The results showed that carrot tops hay did not lead to any adverse effects on rabbit production, digestion of nutrients, carcass characteristics or blood parameters that were measured in this study. |
