Abstract A total of 120 samples from muscle, kidney and liver of camel, cattle, buffalo and sheep (10 samples of each) randomly collected from Zagazig city, Sharkia, Egypt. The collected samples were packed in a cold polyethylene bag then transferred to the central laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University for the following analysis. Heavy metals: 1-Copper: The mean concentrations of Cu was 0.14 ± 0.04, 0.46± 1.17, 0.26 ± 0.07 and 0.10 ± 0.04 ppm in muscle samples, 0.16 ± 0.07, 1.21± 0.10, 0.28 ± 0.06 and 0.36 ± 0.07 in kidney samples and 2.10 ± 0.91, 2.75 ± 1.42, 2.39 ± 0.67 and 8.82 ± 1.01ppm in the examined liver samples of camel, cattle, buffalo and sheep, respectively. All the examined samples were 100% within the maximum permissible limits (15 ppm). The estimated daily intake (EDI) of Cu was (0.0706, 0.0002, 0.0030), (0.2319, 0.0017, 0.0039), (0.1311, 0.0004, 0.0034), (0.0062, 0.0034, 0.0088) µg/Kg Bwt/Day in camel, cattle, buffalo and sheep (muscle, kidney, liver) , respectively. The target hazard quotient (THQ) of copper ranged from 0.000057 to 0.057972 in camel kidney and cattle muscle, respectively. |
