Abstract A novel composite catalysts of Pt nanorods and nanostructure<>PtCo, PtNi and PtMo alloys onto a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with nanostructured NiCo alloy are successfully electrosynthesized for the electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol. The morphology, chemical composition, and phase structure for the electrodeposited catalysts are examined using scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The electrocatalytic properties of the catalysts are investigated by cyclic voltammetric (CV) and current-time methods. It is discovered that the electrodeposited nano flowered NiCo alloy substrate has a great effect on the electrocatalytic properties of the electrodeposited catalysts. The effect of electrodeposition time for NiCo alloy is studied. Also, the effects of the type of electrodeposition method, pH, temperature, and concentration for the electrodeposition bath for Pt, PtCo, PtNi and PtMo alloys on the electrocatalytic properties of the catalysts are well studied. Furthermore, the effect of temperature and concentration of methanol solution on MOR are |
