Abstract

Summarizing our study, it included 150 patients divided into two groups. Each group included 75 patients. Bladder flap group had mean age 28.73 and non-bladder flap group had mean age of 28.00. BMI in bladder flap group had a mean of 35.35 cm/kg2 while the non bladder flap one had a mean of 33.04cm/kg2. Number of previous C.S in 1st group had a mean of 1.57 and the 2nd group had a mean of 0.81. The most commonly used indications of C.S were elective C.S and scarred uterus in labor with percentage 15.3% and 32.6% respectively.
Preoperative data had no significant differences that can affect the outcomes.
Intraoperative data showed significant delay in the skin to delivery time and the total operative time comparing the bladder flap group to the non bladder flap group, being 3 minutes and 7 minutes respectively in favor to the non bladder flap group. Also there was a significant difference in estimated blood loss being higher in the bladder flap group with a mean of 526.00cc and 429cc in non bladder flap group.
In the post operative data, the bladder flap group had a significant higher level in post operative pain score having a mean of 6.29 while the other group had 5.81. Also in comparison in terms of postoperative microhimaturia, there was a significant difference with the bladder flap group having a mean of 133.87 and the non bladder flap showing mean of 24.13.
We ruled out any mistakes by conducting a different step that wasn’t performed in previous researches, which was comparing the microhematuria pre and post operatively.
