-content is a key element of the e-learning system; it contains the message to be conveyed to learners. Therefore, the design process should be carried out in the light of scientific principles. It is based on different sources, such as learning theories that explain the learning process and how they occur in different educational materials.
There is a strong relationship between the presentation of content and visual stimuli, as the visual stimuli are all up to the learner about the way the sense of sight of images, drawings, symbols and forms affect his perceptions so that he can interpret them visually and help him in the aspects of learning and skill skills and adjust trends and communicate with others, Meaning is responsible for delivering content (images, drawings, video, text, etc.) to learners to achieve the desired educational goals.
Research problem:
The problem of research is determined by the lack of academic achievement among middle school students in the field of informatics, so the researcher saw the possibility of treating this problem through studying the effect of the interaction between the visual stimuli in the e-learning environment and the cognitive approach in the development of academic achievement among middle school students in Kuwait.
This problem can be addressed by answering the following questions:
1.What is the effect of the difference in the visual environment of the e-learning environment (animation / image still) in the development of academic achievement among students in the middle school in Kuwait?
2.What is the effect of the difference of the cognitive method in the development of academic achievement among middle school students in Kuwait?
3.What is the effect of the interaction between the visual stimuli in the e-learning environment (animation / static image) and the cognitive approach (two-step) in the development of academic achievement among students of intermediate stage in Kuwait?
Research goals:
The objective of the current research is to address the research problem by achieving the following objectives:
1.Determining the impact of visual difference in the e-learning environment (animation / still image) in the development of academic achievement among students of the intermediate stage in the State of Kuwait.
2. Determining the impact of different cognitive methods (students / teachers) in the development of academic achievement among middle school students in Kuwait.
2. Determining the effect of the interaction between the visual stimuli in the e-learning environment (animation / static image) and the cognitive method (students / teachers) in the development of academic achievement among students in middle school in the State of Kuwait.
Research importance:
The importance of the current research stems from the following:
1. The current research presents some of its design, the presentation of electronic content that educational institutions can apply when designing educational electronic content.
2. The current research contributes to providing designers and developers of electronic content with a set of guidelines when designing electronic content and associated visual stimuli.
3.The results of the current research in providing some of the foundations and principles of science in the design of visual stimuli designed to develop academic achievement.
Search limits:
The research is limited to a set of limits:
1. Research on visual stimuli was limited to the e-learning environment (animation / still image).
1. The study is limited to one of the cognitive methods (patients and impatiens) as one of the cognitive methods, and deals with the two categories of it are ”patient’s students versus impatient students.”
2.The research was limited to the units (Internet explorer - Isracard) material in the ninth grade average.
3.The research was limited to (80) of the ninth grade students in the State of Kuwait.
Search tools:
The current research was based on the following:
1- Achievement test in informatics (preparation by researcher).
2- Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) (Kagan et al., 1964).
Research Methodology:
The current research uses Quasi-experimental design through an experiment to teach the effect of interaction between the visual stimuli on the e-learning environment and the cognitive approach in the development of educational achievement among middle school students in Kuwait.
Search Variables:
- Independent variable:
• Visual in the e-learning environment, and has two types:
- Animation.
- Still images.
• Taxonomic (classifying) variable:
- The cognitive method (patients and impatiens), and has two levels:
- The patients
- The impatiens
• Dependent variable: The search includes a dependent variable which is: Educational achievement in informatics.
Community and Sample Search:
The current research community is composed of all ninth grade students in the State of Kuwait, while the sample was limited to a group of students in the ninth grade in the State of Kuwait.
The current research uses Quasi-experimental design through an experiment to teach the effect of interaction between the visual stimuli on the e-learning environment and the cognitive approach in the development of educational achievement among middle school students in Kuwait.
Semi-experimental design for research:
In the light of the independent variable and the variable of classification and their levels, the current research used the global design (2 × 2) and thus the sample was divided into four experimental groups.
Search procedures:
The research procedures followed the following steps:
1-See the literature and previous studies related to research, which focused on the visual effects in the environment of e-learning, and the method of knowledge, and educational achievement.
2- To prepare a list of criteria for designing visual stimuli in the e-learning environment; to present them to a group of experts and specialists, and to make the necessary adjustments.
3-Design and production of the stimulants in the first medium depends on the visual stimulus (animation) and the second depends on the visual stimuli (still images), and presented to a group of experts and specialists, and make the necessary adjustments.
4-Preparation of the research tool; and presented to a group of experts and specialists in the field of curricula and teaching methods and education technology to ensure the validity of the application, and make the necessary adjustments, and verification of honesty and persistence.
5-Conducting the basic experiment to search according to the following steps:
•Selection of the research sample.
•Division of the research sample according to the semi-experimental design of the research.
• Apply search tools in advance.
•Implementation of the basic research experience.
•Application of search tools.
6-Measuring the impact of the interaction between the visual stimuli in the e- learning environment and the cognitive approach in the development of academic achievement among students of the intermediate stage in the State of Kuwait.
7-Discussion, analysis and interpretation of results.
8-Make recommendations and proposals.
Research results:
 There is a statistically significant difference at (0.05) between the mean scores of the intermediate stage students in the post-application of the educational achievement test due to the main effect of the difference in the visual environment of the e-learning environment (animation) ).
 There is a statistically significant difference at (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the intermediate stage in the post-application of the scholastic achievement test due to the main effect of the difference in the cognitive method (patients and impatiens) in favor of the cognitive method.
 There is a statistically significant difference at (0.05) between the mean scores of the intermediate stage students in the post-application to the academic achievement test due to the main effect of the interaction between (visual / cognitive).
Search recommendations:
In light of the results of the research, discussion and interpretation, the following recommendations can be made:
 Use of the visual animation (animation) style when designing and producing electronic content for middle school students.
 Preparation of training courses for middle school teachers to train them on methods of producing and developing motion pictures and their use in teaching, as they have a clear impact on the development of knowledge and concepts as shown by the research results.
 Importing the design and production of motion pictures in the preparation programs of intermediate stage parameters.
 Dependence on the research tool used (the achievement test) to evaluate the students of the intermediate stage in the informatics course.
 Benefiting from the electronic environment that has been developed in the current research in the development of knowledge collection and knowledge in middle school students.
 The need to pay attention to the development of the ability of students in the middle stage to deal with technological developments because of the impact on the possibility of learning at any time without restriction of time or place.
Suggested Research:
In light of the current research results, and by reviewing the previous studies related to the subject of the research, the researcher proposes the following research topics:
 The impact of some variables of presentation of visual stimuli in educational websites in the development of the skills of using electronic tables among students of the middle school in the State of Kuwait.
 Effect of different intensity of visual stimuli in the mobile learning environment in the development of programming skills among middle school students in Kuwait.
 Effect of different levels of intensity of stimuli in the interactive info graphic in developing the skills of visual thinking and problem solving among middle school students in Kuwait.
 Effectiveness of an adaptive learning environment on the development of the production skills of the info graphic in the middle stage teachers in Kuwait.
 The difference in the presentation of visual stimuli in the enhanced reality environment in the development of presentation production skills among middle school students in Kuwait.
