Abstract
Background: Dental abnormalities, which can cause visible anterior teeth differences in adolescents affect the satisfaction levels of appearance and probably have negative effect on oral health related quality of life (OHRQoL).Design of the Study:-Descriptive cross-sectional study design was performed on the children at the first year of preparatory schools Aim: This study estimated the prevalence of anterior abnormalities on a group of children in Damietta Governorate, and the effect of such abnormalities on the children’s OHRQOL. Conclusions: prevalence of the observed abnormalities at three centers of Damietta was 97.5%, the highest prevalence was malocclusion and the lowest one was caries. Malocclusion, DED,TDI and caries have negative effects on satisfaction with appearance, oral symptoms, functional limitations, emotional well-being and self-esteem.
