Abstract

The assessment of area under the study revealed needing for further detailed geological and mineralogical study of Ramlet Homayier area and Gabal Ghoraby area and their extensions. Moreover the recommendation of preventing the use of natural rocks as a building or covering materials from Ramlet Homayier area and Gabal Ghorby area unlike the rocks from Heboush and Sarabit El Khadim areas. Applying radiation protection program for the assessment and monitoring of Ramlet Homayier area and Gabal Ghoraby area to minimize public and possible occupational exposures and keep it as low as possible. Monitoring of the area under the study using radiometric measurements concluded in a high radiation health risk in exposure to NORM in Ramlet Homayier area and Gabal Ghoraby area, however there is no radiation health risk raised from NORM in Heboush area and Sarabit El Khadim area and the use of these areas as residence for the population there. Underground water samples in Ramlet Homayier area are not suitable for drinking use for its high heavy metals contamination. The examined plants Stipagrostis plumose and Haloxylon salicornicum concluded in the safe use of grazing plants in the area under the study. The low heavy metals content in the examined samples for grazing animals, or the use of such plants in medical industry.
