Abstract Previous studies: Review of a collection of scientific theses from the faculty’s technical libraries which are related to the subject of the research. To identify the similarities and differences, these studies have been divided into studies that addressed the Arabic calligraphy and studies that addressed the Japanese calligraphy as well as the Japanese kimono and the Sinai costume 2.1 Previous Studies about Arabic calligraphy: 2.1.1 A study: (Gamal Al-Din, E) Entitled: “The Arabic calligraphy, its history and foundations and the possibility to develop it for using it in modern advertising of various types as well as conducting an applied study on it” The research displays a study of the Kufic font in terms of name, origin, development stages and general characteristics and then the research went on to study the soft font and then to studying famous calligraphers and writing tools that were used. It also addressed the link between the Arabic calligraphy with advertising and surveying in terms of interest in artistic dimensions which help the advertisement to be successful and how to develop the Arabic calligraphy to suit and highlight the advertisement subject. The research included the study of the Arabic calligraphy in its forms and specialized in the Diwani font. 2.1.2 |
