Abstract

Previous studies:
Review of a collection of scientific theses from the faculty’s
technical libraries which are related to the subject of the research.
To identify the similarities and differences, these studies have
been divided into studies that addressed the Arabic calligraphy
and studies that addressed the Japanese calligraphy as well as the
Japanese kimono and the Sinai costume
2.1 Previous Studies about Arabic calligraphy:
2.1.1 A study: (Gamal Al-Din, E)
Entitled: “The Arabic calligraphy, its history and
foundations and the possibility to develop it for using it in
modern advertising of various types as well as conducting
an applied study on it”
The research displays a study of the Kufic font in terms of name,
origin, development stages and general characteristics and then
the research went on to study the soft font and then to studying
famous calligraphers and writing tools that were used. It also
addressed the link between the Arabic calligraphy with
advertising and surveying in terms of interest in artistic
dimensions which help the advertisement to be successful and
how to develop the Arabic calligraphy to suit and highlight the
advertisement subject.
The research included the study of the Arabic calligraphy in its
forms and specialized in the Diwani font.
