المستخلص Despite the Egyptian society has been trying to follow scientific thinking and to keep up with technology, superstitious beliefs are maintained hand in hand with science, so the latter is handled and loses chances of effectiveness, although science is the main pillar of development. The phenomenon of belief in superstitions calls for writing a study to investigate the reasons for which such belief is so established in the Egyptian society, and identify how it affects the society; the social relationships, health issues, and the systems of work and innovation. The adoption of a society of superstitious beliefs leads to spread ignorance, continuous fear from the future and the unknown, and impeding the faculties of individuals and society, let alone the crimes that are committed in the name of sorcery and magic that result in blurring the reason and will of individuals. The research was applied to a sample consisting of 45 female individual living in Cairo governorate; in the districts of Heliopolis and al-Khalifah. The research was done with the help of open talk, and then qualitatively analyzing and explicating the results of talks. The research was concluded by suggesting implications for limiting belief in superstitions in the Egyptian society. |
