Abstract This study aimed at assessing the LVEF in patients with significant MR before and after mitral valve at cardiology department, Tanta University. It was conducted on 25 patients that underwent mitral valve replacement which shown there was a significant reduction of LVEF postoperative in comparison to LVEF preoperative. The study was done by using several methods in assessment of LVEF included: • Simpson’s method • LV filling pressure (E/e’) • Tissue Doppler • Global and Peak systolic strain Our findings: There was a reduction of LVEF post three and six months after MVR in comparison to the LVEF preoperative. There was decrease in the LV internal dimensions after alleviating the overload beside the improvement in the LA diameter and ESPAP. |
