Abstract

To achieve the goal of this study, a pot experiment was carried out at the green house of Research Station., Sakha , Kafr El Sheikh Governorate , during the season of 2015 / 2016 to investigate response of wheat plant to different levels of Cd element with using different sources of N-fertilizers under clay and sandy soil conditions. The combined effects of cadmium and N- fertilizers on growth and yield of wheat plant were investigated by combining four cadmium rates and three different sources of N-fertilizers under a split- split design, with 3 replicates for each treatment. The cadmium levels for wheat were: (C0) Without Cd application (Tap water),(C1) With Cd application at rate of 40 ppm, (C2) With Cd application at rate of 80 ppm and
(C3) With Cd application at rate of 120 ppm, added as cadmium chloride (CdCl2). As well as three different sources of N-fertilizers: (N1) Nitrogen fertilizer was used as ammonium sulfate [21%N], (N2) Nitrogen fertilizer was used as calcium nitrate [15.5%N] and
(N3) Nitrogen fertilizer was used as urea [46.5%N]. To carry out the experiment, plastic pots (25 cm diameter and 30 cm depth) were filled by air dry soils equaled to 6.0 kg dry soil of the two studied soils (clay and sandy soils). All agricultural operations were performed according to the traditional local agriculture management practices. Planting date for wheat was the 23th of November, 2015.
