Abstract Ubiquitous computing is a new paradigm in information technology. Over the past two decades, growing many of ubiquitous computing and Internet of Things applications to facilitate our life. This study will be limited to ubiquitous computing applications in work environment. These applications have features and characteristics which need more investigation. The Mobile Business Intelligence was chosen as an initial stage technology of ubiquitous computing to empirically validate the proposed model by this study. Thus, understating the key determinants to behavioral intention to use is an important step toward user acceptance for ubiquitous computing. We propose an extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model with trust and perceived convenience to investigate Behavioral Intention to use ubiquitous computing applications. The questionnaire presented in this work was used as data collection tool. This study used Cross-Sectional research because the questionnaire was answered once by respondents. The model was tested against data from 277 employees across various organizations in Egypt. The quantitative analysis research method was used to achieve this study objective. Therefore, the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) modeling was used to analyze the collected data and to assess the proposed model. The effort expectancy can explain 50.3% of the variation of Perceived Convenience. 60.7% of the variation of Performance Expectancy can be explained by the Perceived Convenience. The results indicate that Performance Expectancy and Perceived Convenience have insignificant impact on Behavioral Intention. Effort expectancy, Facilitating Conditions and Trust can explain 40.5% of the variation of Behavioral Intention to use Mobile Business Intelligence. |
