Abstract

This thesis studied the redox behavior of some metal salts (bulk and nano cadmium chloride, bulk and nano copper sulphate and vanadyl sulpphate) at different temperatures using cyclic voltammetry Technique in absence and in the presence of some Ketones which act as ligands such as isatin, benzoin and maxipime in aqueous media. The used working electrode was glassy carbon electrode. The results obtained from cyclic voltammetry were used to calculate of diffusion coefficients, heterogeneous rate constant of electron transfer, surface coverage, amount of electricity consumed during redox reaction as well as different solvation and thermodynamic parameters of the interaction of the metal salts (under-study) with the three different ketones and the Suggestion of the electrochemical reaction mechanism. Also, this thesis included a comparative study between bulk and nano salts in absence and presence of ketones.This thesis shows many thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of some bulk and nano metal salts which can be used to study the different behavior of some cations that are important biologically and environmentally.
