Abstract The aim of this work was to search for polymorphisms in MHCI gene and microsatellites in A. hydrophila-challenged Nile tilapia and to study the association between SNPs and immunity through investigating immunity parameters, oxidative parameters and gene expression of immune-related genes (MHCI, MHCIIA, MHCIIB, and IgM heavy chain). The frequency of GG of MHCIA gene was higher in resistant fish than CC. Immunity, antioxidant parameters and the expression level of immune-related genes was significantly higher in resistant fish (carrying GG genotype) than normal and susceptible fish (carrying CC genotype). Heterozygosity in microsatellite polymorphic markers in both resistant and diseased fish. |
