Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common liver cancer and the third leading cause of cancer death. The early diagnosis of HCC and chance to select suitable treatment are important benefits of HCC screening. Α-1-acid glycoprotein (A1AG) is a member of the lipocalins and is an acute phase protein. The level of A1AG has been suggested to be a potential marker for diagnosing HCC (Fournier et al., 2000). |
