Abstract This research has tackled the problem of considering the construction one of the most hazardous industries especially in Mega projects, not only in developing countries but also throughout the world due to its unique nature. The hazards of this industry make it very essential to pay more attention to construction safety and to improve the safety performance of construction companies and individuals. However, safety is not a luxury but a necessity and may be considered an important function to the against unnecessary loss. This research recommended a H&S matrix for efficient H&S management in MCPs. The matrix integrated the best practices of H&S in some international and real mega projects with the standards of H&S management system by explaining how these rules improve the enhancement of H&S management in MCPs. Moreover this preliminary validation of the H&S guidelines are proved by conducting a questionnaire survey that targeted architects, H&S engineers, project managers, civil engineers, and academics,….etc. who worked in the construction field to guarantee effective application of H&S management system on MCPs in Egypt by examined the practices, the main factors, the involved phases and the primary tools of this management system. Also, this H&S modified matrix provided a steering direction for the construction companies and the individuals who involved in different stages of the construction fields . The primary focus of this research was to outline a H&S matrix to deal with hazards situations in the sites and guarantee a quick response from the workers through the effective skills which can be introduced from safety officials who will follow this matrix. |
