Abstract Three taxa namely, Brassica tournefortii, Raphanus raphanistrum and Capsella bursa-pastoris have been chosen for the present study. The present study aims at the following (1) providing a detailed description on the location and climatic conditions of the study area, (2) examining of the biological aspects of B. tournefortii, R. raphanistrum and C. bursa-pastoris, (3) studying the ecological characters including the floristic composition, life – span, life – forms spectra, and chorotypes of the plant species within the three communities, (4) investigating the variation of the environmental factors (edaphic) to determine the soil variables controlling the abundance and distribution of the three plants, (5) examining of the effect of salinity level, light and darkness, depth of sowing of seeds and rainfall on seed germination, (6) the growth analysis to elucidating the periodical variation in plant height, leaves number, assimilating surface area, biomass and the growth characteristics, (7) Investigating the primary constituents and some secondary metabolites (phenols and flavonoids) as well as investigation of the antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of the different extracts of the three plants. |
