Abstract

DW-MRI is a recently prevailing technique used to show tissue characteristics based on diffusion motion of water molecules, it is used extensively to improve tumor detection and localization because it offers excellent soft tissue contrast between malignant and non-malignant tissues. DWI enables quantitative information to be obtained with the use of apparent diffusion co efficient (ADC) maps, reflecting tissue cellularity and may provide useful information in differentiating malignant from benign lesions. Enrolled on this study (100) female patients with their age ranging from 20 to 85 years old presented by abnormal vaginal bleeding in (96%) of patients. Histopathologically; (40%) of patients had endometrial cancer and (60%) had benign endometrial and subendometrial lesions. We investigated the diagnostic accuracy of DWI for depicting important prognostic factors of endometrial cancer, which are essential for accurate pre-operative staging, which helps in treatment planning and improves overall patient survival.
