Abstract

The benefit of international trade has been the major drivers of growth, so on it reduce of poverty. The main reasons for migration are low income and lack of job opportunities which could be achieved by boosting international trade, thus enhance the growth and income. This study is tackling with the empirical estimation of the relationship between the trade in service flow in specific and international migration, taking in accounts some variables such as GDP and distance. The study tested the
relationship between trade in services and migration for Egypt in one side (as developing country) and four selected European countries which have a high share of Egyptian migrants to them
(as developed countries). The study used the panel data of these
countries (Germany, Italy, France, and United Kingdom) and Egypt during the period 2000 to 2017. The results revealed that tnere is a negative significant relationship between international trade in services and international migration, which in other
words means there is a substitution relationship between international trade in services and migration.
