Abstract

Ovarian reserve is defined as capacity of the ovary to produce sufficient number of high quality oocytes. Ovarian reserve tests (ORT) can help clinicians to form imaginary map for the expected follicular pool. So, it gives idea about the response of the ovary regarding different ovarian stimulation protocols. So, we can identify women at risk of hypo or hyper response to ovarian induction. They also aim at detecting reproductive lifespan, approximate menopausal timing, counseling about a family planning, and individualizing management to optimize ovarian response whilst minimizing risks. Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and Antral follicle count (AFC) have often been considered as interchangeable biomarkers for the detection of ovarian reserve AFC has been the subject of increasing regard during the last decade from the advancement of ovarian ultrasonography. While AMH measurement in serum has been applied to a wide array of clinical applications. It is mainly based on its ability to mirror the number of antral and pre-antral follicles present in the ovaries. Thus, the aim of this work was to detect the relationship between levels of serum AMH, FSH and AFC is significant to determine ovarian factors of infertile female. It was a prospective study which included 60 women; 30 of them confirmed diagnosis of infertility and 30 women were selected as control. Each patient was submitted to full history taking, complete clinical examination and investigations. Ultrasonography was included to estimate the antral follicle count. Serum Anti-müllerian hormone and FSH were measured on 2nd day of menstrual cycle
