Abstract This study was conducted to investigate the correlation between severity of coronary artery disease assessed with modified Gensini score and myocardial performance index in Patients with NSTEMI. 60 patients who were candidate for coronary angiography were included in the study, with exclusion of patients with valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy, history of percutaneous coronary intervention, chronic kidney disease, hepatic dysfunction and complex congenital heart disease. All study population was subjected to full history taking, complete clinical examination, echocardiography, coronary angiography. Risk factors and biochemical data were recorded. The myocardial performance index was calculated by measurement of Doppler time interval from mitral and left ventricular outflow Doppler tracing. Coronary angiography was accurately interpretated for each significant lesion that was scored separately and added together to provide the overall modified Gensini score. |
