Abstract
The renal stone disease prevalence shows a continuous rise and tendency to increase due to changes in diet and climate. PCNL represents the preferred method to manage large and complex renal stones and widely adopted by urologists due to low complications and side effects using this technique.
Preoperative planning is critical to reduce complications and increase the rate of removal of kidney stones. The presence of CT scans has provided detailed anatomical information on the kidneys. Using CT results, several predictive diagrams have been published for the success of PCNL.
In our study, CROES nomogram was used for 100 patients with renal stones planned to undergo PCNL. It was used to predict the success rate of kidney stones, based on a multicenter study based on 6 parameters; the size of the stones, the location of the stones in the kidney, the presence of staghorn stones, the number of stones, prior treatment for stones, and the number of cases of PCNL at the center per year.
