Abstract This study were done on 40 SD male albino rats to study the prophylactic and therapeutic effect of raw camel milk against type 2 diabetes mellitus. Forty rats were allocated in 4 groups group 1 Control groups group 2 Diabetic control group 3 Diabetic + treated with camel milk for 6 week at a daily dose of 40 ml /rat. group 4 Prophylactic group rats were given raw camel milk at a daily dose of 40 ml for 21 day then type 2 diabetes were induced in rats. Type 2 diabetes was induced in rats by single i/p injection of nicotinamide at a dose of 110 mg/kg body weight followed by single i/p injection of STZ at a dose of 65 mg/ kg body weight after 15 min of nicotinamide. Assayed parameters:- All parameter were assayed each 2 weeks for all groups 1- Body weight. 2- Fasting blood glucose level. 3- Fasting insulin level. |
