Abstract Background: investigated renal function and injury in infants and young children with CHD based on the measurement of these urinary biomarkers( KIM1). They concluded that tubular injury can occur in CHD patients during infancy and early childhood.it was most prominent in children with severe cyanosis. Glomerular injury was detected in some individuals with advanced heart failure or severe cyanosis The aim of the work: The aim of this study is to investigate kidney injury in infants and children with CHD based on the measurement of Kidney Injury Molecule (KIM-1). Type of study: Prospective study. Materials and Methods: This study was carried out at Mansoura children University Hospital.The estimated sample was 60 children with congenital heart disease and 20 controls without any history of chronic disease or history of congenital anomalies . Patients was divided into three groups according to disease types and degrees of clinical cyanosis: group I, ACHD; group II, CCHD and control group. |
