Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the effect of using some strategies such as (show not tell, brainstorming, graphic organizer, and mind mapping) on developing English majors’ creative writing and self-esteem. Participants of the study were 30 students enrolled at third-year English majors at the Faculty of Education, Minia University. The research used a quasi-experimental design. The data required for this study was collected through pre/post-test of creative writing and a scale of self –esteem to evaluate the effect of these strategies on enhancing students’ creative writing and raising their level of self-esteem. The statistical devices used in this study were t-test, Eta –Square, and Alpha chronbach formula. The treatment group was taught using the proposed program. The findings of the study revealed that using these strategies is effective in developing students’ creative writing and self-esteem. |
