Abstract
Document is the proof of the existence as every deal and relation is considered by written data which is formed in a document. Meanwhile governments in several countries is interested in how to deal and keep huge numbers of document in addition to record data and information by organized way which enable all stakeholders deal with these by easy way in all fields. Construction is a big sector in any government, so developers in this field have a great interest in how to deal with documents, data, information and knowledge. They develop systems used to manage construction document which make information and knowledge management is easier and available any time anywhere specially. With global openness and global projects that include different companies and also different nationalities parties all over the world. These projects require internet stream lines communications to improve performance and easily manage document and transfer information and data. Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) is the magic solution especially with the huge development in using computers and mobiles. Managing Projects as the project is the core and the smallest unit in construction organization of is depending on managing Time, cost, quality and scope according to PMPbok 6th Ed. Every knowledge area has many documents which need to be managed according to contract requirements and organization regulations and rules along the project life cycle starting with initiating phase, passing by executing, monitoring and controlling, ending by closing and handling[1]. This research is to provide a clear understanding for how to implement DMS in Construction Projects starting from previous studies passing by the construction and market field studying and its requirements ending by determine and qualify the project DMS according the construction organization Document Management system. This will be done through studying the collecting data since 2016up to 2019 from experts and national projects especially drawn with the government destination to electronic system in all fields such as accounting, healthy, education …etc. A case study is analyzed and compared electronic Systems and software used in DM specially by using Primavera Contract Management Software Program (PCM), reflecting implementation obstacles and how to go over them and find out alternatives designed programs which is suitable to the project needs. It also reflecting the importance of DMS. Finally, This Study aims to help Construction organizations in realizing the DMS benefits, various Electronic applications and improve the project management by clearly answering the questions ―How to implement DMS in construction Projects according to construction field requirement and organization needs and rules? What are EDMS benefits especially without having time overruns / delay and keep organization rights in claims? Is this EDMS suitable for drawing the road of projects in other fields in Egypt.
