Abstract Coronary Artery Ectasia (CAE) is defined as a segment of the coronary artery that has a diameter of more than 1.5 times than normal adjacent segments of vessel. It is mainly encountered in males and seems to be related to coronary atherosclerosis. This observational cross sectional case series study was done on 60 patients performing diagnostic coronary angiography at Cath Lab in Cardiology Department, Specialized Medical Hospital, Mansoura University who meet the study inclusion criteria between May 2017 to May 2018 with informed consent to assess haematological indices in patients with CAE and compare it with indices in others with atherosclerotic CAD and normal coronaries. The patients were divided into three groups group 1: 20 patients with diagnosis of CAE. group 2: 20 patients with diagnosis of atherosclerotic coronary artery disease (CAD). Group3: 20 patients with normal coronary. there were significant differences regarding RDW, MPV and NLR between CAE group and normal coronaries group and between CAD group and normal cornaries group. Not only that but also there was not statistically significant difference regarding NLR, MPV, RDW between CAD group and CAE group. |
