This study sought to identify the university youth’s use of smartphones and its relationship to their cultural alienation. The most important objectives of the study were as follows:1. Learn about the role of smartphones in the cultural alienation of university youth.2. Knowing the justifications for the use of smartphones by university students.3. Knowing the level of cultural alienation among university youth.4. Knowing the factors of cultural alienation among university youth.5. Knowing the aspects of cultural alienation among university youth.6. Studying the effect of the demographic factors of the Egyptian university youth represented in the place of residence - age group - gender - social and economic level in their use of smart phones 7. Coming out with a set of scientific and practical recommendations that contribute to reducing the negative impact of smartphones on university youth. The study belongs to runner-up research, which uses the media survey approach in both its descriptive and analytical aspects, as it aims to identify the relationship between university youth’s use of smartphones and its relationship to their cultural alienation, and describe and analyze how these smartphones affect university youth. The study used the questionnaire form, and the study relied on a simple random sample of university youth, consisting of (400) individuals in four colleges from Mansoura University, and diversity was taken into account in selecting the sample members in terms of gender (male / female), age levels, educational, social and economic levels In order to represent the different groups of the study population, in a way that helps in the generalization of the results to the society in question.
