Abstract
Determining the prevalence of lower limb deformities in the general popu¬lation and evaluating the risk factors associated with them require a large cohort in order to provide statistical power. This study should be used as a starting point for future studies in this field. Further prospective longitudinal studies including all children in primary and elementary schools at a national wide as well as adolescents with larger samples are strongly recommended to provide a comprehensive assessment for the physiological developmental changes of lower limbs among children and adolescents in Egypt. Other factors such as, family history of similar postural defects, shoe type, detailed dietary assessment and symptomatic postural defect should be evaluated. Methods employed in this study were designed to be as simple as possible to be applicable in school environment and settings, therefore, they were screening rather than confirmation methods. Using more precise consistent diagnostic methodologies or equipment should be considered in future population studies to confirm clinical diagnosis.
