Abstract ”The hydrazones and their transition metal complexes have been well documented in the literature as good antimicrobial, anticonvulsant, anticancer and antitumor agents as well as antiviral. The current interest in hydrazones is due to the presence of various donor atoms (N, O-donors), which exhibit diverse bonding modes leading to different structural motifs. Therefore, the work in this thesis is focused on the preparation and characterization of new complexes of (Z)-2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-N’-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene) acetohydrazide (H2L1), (Z)-2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-N’-(4-hydroxy-3methoxybenzylidene) acetohydrazide (H2L2) and 2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-N’-((2Z,3E)-3-(hydroxyimino)butan-2-ylidene)acetohydrazide (H2L3) with Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), V(IV)O2+, Zn(II), Cr(III), Fe(III) and U(VI)O22+ metal ions employing elemental analyses, thermal (TG and DTG), spectral (IR, UV-Visible, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and EPR) and magnetic measurements. The molecular docking and biological activity were carried out. Also, the activity against bacteria, antioxidant and DNA binding activity are carried out.” |
