Abstract Diabetic maculopathy is the mean cause of visual impairment in patients with diabetes mellitus worldwide, so detection of early structural or functional macular changes will be a corner stone to prevent the serious complications that threaten the vision The present study is a prospective, randomized, cross-sectional, controlled study aiming to evaluate both macular function by multifocal ERG and structure by OCT angiography in patients with diabetic maculopathy. This study was done on 30 eyes of 20 patients with diabetic maculopathy who were classified into 1st group of 16 eyes with non-center involving ME and 2nd group of 14 eyes with center involving ME, 3rd group of 10 eyes of 8 patients with diabetic changes without evident maculopathy and 4th group of 10 eyes of 10 normal individuals without ocular or systemic disease. |
