Abstract

The current research aimed to selecting wheat stable var.s with
high productivity across diverse environments. Fifteen wheat var.s
were grown in a randomized complete block design with three
replications at three sowing dates during two successive seasons of
2016/2017 and 2017/208 representing six environments. The var.s were
evaluated for grain yield and its attributes. Highly significant (P < 0.01)
mean squares were detected for var.s, environments, and their
interactions, indicating that they varied in their responses to diverse
environments, thus giving justification for performing stability
analysis. Early sowing dates gave high biological and grain yield plot-1
as well as yield attributes. Highest significant grain yield was found by
Sahk 44 followed by Sahk 43, Gemmeiza 10 and Misr 1. For
biological yield plot-1, var.s Sahk 44, Gemmeiza 10 and Misr 1 gave
minimum deviation mean square S2d, and showed above grand mean.
Var. Bani suef 1 had above average stability α > 0 and λ = 1. Var.s
Sahk 43, Gemmeiza 11 and Sohag 4 had below average stability α < 0
and λ = 1. Var. Bani Suef 4 gave average stability with, α = 0 and λ =
1. For grain yield plot-1, Sohag 4 gave the highest mean values than
grand mean, bi = 1 and S2di equal zero. Bani Suef 4 and Sohag 4 were
genetically stable for grain yield across the environments. Meanwhile
