Abstract This study have been carried out on 500 marine fish (Engraulis encrasicolus, Sardina pilchardus Caranx rhonchus ,Tilapia zillii,, Dicentrarchus punctatus ) ,100 of each which have been randomly collected from suez canal marine water in ismailia Province seasonally to investigate some of endoparasitic diseases. Examined fish showed no pathognomic clinical signs. Post-mortem findings were congestion of internal organs, pale liver, gills and skin ulcers, enteritis, haemorrahges and distension. The total prevalence of parasitic infestation among examined fishes was 66%.The highest percentage was in Engraulis encrasicolus 75%followed by Dicentrarchus punctatus (72%), Tilapia zillii (69%),Caranx rhoncus (67%)then Sardina pilchardus (47%).The isolated internal parasites were digenetic trematodes: EMC, Erilepturus hamati,Erilepturus tiegsi Clupenuroids secundus .Larval Cestodes: Callitetrarhyncus species and Cestodal pleurocercoids. Acanthocephalan:Echinorynchus sp. ,Cystacanth(larva).Nematodes: Contracaecum sp. and Cucullanus sp. The higher endo-parasitic infestation occurs in smaller fish than the bigger ones especially in autumn and winter seasons. PCR used in cestode identification by using lsrDNA gene gave positive ban at156bp.histopathological changes also recorded. |
