This study aims at finding out rate of the children uses of smart devices. It also shows the motives that make them use these devices. It shows the best field and app they like. This study also shows the relation between the children’s use of smart devices and their gratifications. And reveal the impact of using smart devices This study is one of the descriptive studies, which depend on the media survey, based on the uses and gratifications approach. This study uses the survey form in collecting information (data). This study has been applied on )300( children aged between (6-12) year, in the primary schools in the governorates of Cairo and Dakahlia. The result of study: - The most popular smart device is smartphone not tablet. - The high class’s sons have more smart devices than others do. - The results showed that children use smart device daily by 48.4%, and that nearly two thirds of children use these devices between less than an hour to an hour. - Children like games apps by 74%, more than other apps: drawing-design apps, educational apps, and e-book apps. - Children (6-8) years were more vulnerable to the negative and positive impacts of smart devices. - The results have shown that there is a relation between the children uses of smart devices and their gratifications. - The positive impact of smart devices on children has exceeded its negative impact.
